Deck and Flyover Patio Roof Build in Mt. Coolum, Sunshine Coast.

The Brief

Add an extra living space onto the front of a ground-level home that currently housed a dirt patch where the family dog was residing. It needed to be affordable and fit in with the beachy feel of the location.

The Solution

We embarked on a deck build journey, constructing a low-ground level deck off the house front, eliminating the need for handrails, thus preserving an open view across the front yard towards the garden. The use of sanded treated pine sleepers gave a light timber blonde look, keeping the costs within budget.

The addition of a pergola, sourced from Gumtree and modified to fit the site, painted and installed atop the deck, birthed a shaded waterproof haven. Now, the family can relish the surf's soothing sounds while sipping cool beverages under their new flyover patio roof.
